🎉 Celebrating 6th Grade Earth Scientists! 🌍🪨🎨
This week, our 6th grade Earth Science students wrapped up their final test on rocks, minerals, and soils with flying colors! After showing off their knowledge, they channeled their inner artists and poets to create something truly unique.
Through a creative art project and poetry, they combined science, art, and words to express their understanding of rocks, minerals, and soils. Their work beautifully showcases their creativity and scientific learning in one complete project!
We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to understanding the natural world around us. Amazing job, future scientists and artists!

Come #SOAR with us at ACGC! We have room in the nest for two elementary paraprofessionals and one full time custodian. Apply at: https://www.acgc.k12.mn.us/page/employment-opportunities

Yesterday we hosted the Region LDE Contests. 11 school attended and we met our goal for our service project; putting together 200 gift boxes to be sent out for the holidays!

Talk to your kids about the danger of vaping.

Ms. Stang teaches cake decorating in Baking and Pastry class.

National Honor Society students are hosting a Toys for Tots campaign now through December 5. We have a goal to collect at least 100 toys, and we can't do it without your help! Please bring new, unwrapped toys to drop off at the Toys for Tots toy bin in the commons and help us spread some holiday cheer!

The 8th graders ventured to Minneapolis to see the 50th annual performance of the classic Dickens tale, A Christmas Carol. We read the text in seventh grade, and then students get to experience the story live on stage as eighth graders. For many, it is their first experience at a professional theater, and the Guthrie leaves an amazing first impression.
We hope that the lessons learned through Scrooge’s experience stick with us this holiday season and all year long!

ACGC Students at the Unified Champions Bowling Invitational in Hutchinson!

We had a blast in Willmar with our fellow conference schools, and others, at the MSHSL Leadership Conference! Here our Falcons learned how to develop personal leadership skills, how to collaborate to create safer, more respectful, and inclusive environments, and how to positively impact the culture of our school and community.
Thank you to the MSHSL and speakers for allowing us to have this opportunity!
GO FALCONS!

1st and 2nd grade performed their Pajama Party concert to a full house! The show was filled with singing, dancing, solos and student narrators.

Today in Earth Science, students had a blast observing their crystals under the microscope! The room was filled with "oohs" and "ahs" and excited whispers of "that is so cool" as the crystals came into focus, revealing their incredible detail and structure. After taking in the view, they documented their observations and dived into a creative writing assignment, imagining what life would be like if they actually lived on their crystal. Seeing their curiosity and creativity come alive was inspiring—it’s these moments that make teaching Earth Science so rewarding!

🌎✨ 6th Grade Earth Science Update! ✨🌎
Our young scientists have been diving deep into the world of crystals, rocks, and minerals! Today, they took their learning to the next level by starting a hands-on crystal-growing project. Using borax, hot water, and pipe cleaners in mason jars, they began building their own crystals – and let me tell you, they were so excited! 🤩
The students can’t wait to return on Tuesday to see how their crystals have grown! It’s such a joy to see their curiosity and enthusiasm for science shining through.

Students in Baking and Pastry class focused on cakes and frosting technique.

Students in Housing and Interior Design created a house based on a chosen architecture style!

ACGC Elementary continues to add to our Wall of Honor through the month of November!

🚯 ACGC Student Council Cleans Up 22 Bags of Litter! 🚯
Our Student Council wrapped up their MnDOT Adopt-a-Highway cleanup just as the sun was setting on Thursday, collecting 22 bags of garbage along U.S. Highway 12. Let’s all do our part to keep our roads clean – please, don’t litter!
Thank you, Student Council, for your hard work and commitment to our community! 🦅 #ACGC #AdoptAHighway #KeepItClean #NoLittering

Exciting day in 6th Grade Earth Science! Today, our young scientists are digging deep—literally and figuratively—into the layers of the Soil Horizon! 🌱
We explored:
The O-Horizon (Organic Matter) 🍃
The A-Horizon (Topsoil) 🌿
The B-Horizon (Subsoil) 🌾
The C-Horizon (Weathered Parent Rock) 🪨
The R-Horizon (Bedrock) 🌋
Students took notes and created visuals to represent the rich layers beneath our feet, analyzing the soils found in the world around them. It’s amazing to see their curiosity come alive as they map out each layer’s unique role in our ecosystem. Here’s to fostering the next generation of geologists and environmentalists!

🗳️ ACGC Students Take Part in Minnesota Students Voting Mock Election! 🗳️
While the rest of the country was voting on Tuesday, our ACGC 5th-12th graders got a hands-on experience with democracy through the Minnesota Students Voting Mock Election, organized by the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Our Student Council members served as election judges, guiding their peers through the voting process. After casting their ballots, students proudly sported the iconic red "I've Voted" stickers.
Great job, Falcons, for practicing civic engagement and preparing to be future voters! 🦅 #ACGC #MockElection #StudentsVote #CivicEngagement #FutureVoters
